Residents of West Michigan know that summer is when the region truly comes alive with lush plant life, warm breezes, and sunny days. This is also the time when summer vacationers flock to the region to take advantage of the great weather and natural surroundings. If you own a West Michigan rental property, summer is the best time of year to rent out your home, apartment, or cottage, as property in the region is in high demand during the warmer months. There following are just a few reasons why people look to rent property in the summer:

*Beaches. West Michigan has over 200 miles of sandy beaches stretching along the shore of Lake Michigan. Vacationers can spend their days swimming in the lake, building sandcastles on the sand, sailing, fishing, or enjoying the spectacular sunsets over the water.

•Golf. The soil in West Michigan is sandy and good for growing sod, which makes it the ideal terrain for golfing. There are many top-notch courses here, including Boyne Highlands in Harbor Springs, Yarrow Golf in Augusta, and McGuire’s Resort in Cadillac.

•Cycling. West Michigan has many cycling paths for all types of cyclers. Those who like easy-going routes can try the paved Hart-Montague Trail, which winds through wooded areas and small towns. For more of a challenge, mountain bikers can take the Van Buren Trail, which is a gravel and grass trail that runs through meadows and forests.

•Food. Summer is the best time of year to taste fresh local produce in West Michigan. The region produces some divine strawberries, blueberries, apples, cherries, and sweet corn. The Saturday market in Grand Rapids is a great place to get tasty local produce.

•Wine. Many people do not realize that West Michigan has an ideal climate for growing grapes for wine. There over 90 vineyards in the region that craft excellent wines, including Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Franc. Many vineyards also offer tours around the property and the wine cellars, as well as wine and food tasting sessions.

With so many things to see and do in West Michigan during the summer, it should come as no surprise that this is the busiest time for rental property owners. Vacationers come from near and far to enjoy the amazing scenery and appealing attractions, and many look for both long and short-term rentals. With just a few strategically placed advertisements for your property, you should have no problem securing a booking for the summer months.
